Motivation
Things that interest me are to be able to help businesses to solve problems or to help a company make a development ready for a future in which it can combat the competition. Knowing that you can possibly make a great difference with your small efforts helps to make me enthusiastic in this. A rapidly-changing world like that of Telecom and ICT feeds my curiosity. Gaining new knowledge and being able to use this for someone else’s benefit gives me a kick.
Education
After my university preparatory education (VWO) I studied Information Technology and Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. A course in which it was attempted to build a bridge between the worlds of commerce and ICT. Besides a basic education in both fields, the focus of the course was on the successful combination of commercial wishes and ICT solutions. After a more general Bachelor’s in Information technology and Economics, I did a Master’s in Economics & ICT in 2007.
I completed this degree in the summer of 2008. To write my dissertation I investigated the added value of a new Agile software development method, Essential Unified Process, compared with the much-used Rational Unified Process.
Background & experience
After my Information Technology & Economics course I started at VDVL as a Junior Consultant in 2008. Here I was able to gain my first experience in a professional sphere as a functional developer in a fulfilment project for both the business and consumer markets.
Specific expertise
Besides my knowledge of commercial, management and software development processes which I brought with me from my study, I gain new knowledge every day on the work floor. Presently as a starting professional I have mainly broad knowledge. Of course, this has been supplemented by the extensive Telecom knowledge I have gained at the VDVL Academy. In the coming years I hope to specialize further in fields which will fuel my interest.
