Motivation
Telecom appeals to me greatly due to the dynamics and the technology push. I enjoy realizing changes in complex environments and am well able to maintain an overview of complex situations and to see the coherence. I enjoy working together with motivated people and giving direction to a business process and IT design and I have a healthy interest in the underlying technology.
 
Education
My basis is university preparatory education (VWO) B, whereafter following a slight detour into Economics, I completed the Institute of Technology course Production Automation. During my career I have completed various courses to increase my personal and professional skills.
 
Background & experience
Developed Management Information Systems for several years in the financial world (Fortis and ABN AMRO). In 1998 I started at Enertel and got to know the telecom industry there.
 
From 1999 to 1993 I was involved in the start of the roll-out of ULL and DSL services in the Netherlands. In the meantime I have become one of the Netherlands’ experts in the field of line and number portability.
 
Have experience with seeing through improvement projects within operators, between operators and as telecom market towards government, including in FIST context. Further, I have played a leading role in the improvement of consumer processes in the transfer of end-users with a DSL connection and in improving the transfer of customers between broadband providers.
 
I am presently employed by the COIN association (the association of telecom operators) and in this involved in implementation, improvement and simplification of the number-porting process in NL, maintenance of the number database with the Netherlands’ E164 numbers, the standards for SDF and MDF access (DSL and broadband transfers) and in standardization of business processes for line and number-porting and the transfer between broadband providers in the Netherlands. At the same time, I am involved in workgroup context making the translation of the number-porting process to next-generation networks (making use of ENUM infrastructure).
