Motivation

I am enthused by challenging and progressive projects which set the bar for the ICT market in the Netherlands a little higher each time. Forming part of developments which have repercussions on society (consider ADSL and cable networks which have bombarded the Netherlands to leader of the world broadband market) and to have the chance to provide creative and pragmatic solutions for the challenges facing a business are matters that set me to work with much pleasure and enthusiasm.

 
Education
After my university preparatory education (VWO) I first immersed myself in the multidisciplinary study Cognitive Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University. After that I took a more exact direction in the Information technology study at the same university. Besides this I followed some specialist training courses in the field of processes, documentation and technology.
 
Background & experience
In the last ten years I have gained experience within various internet and telecom businesses in the Netherlands. Initially, my focus was mainly upon operational processes and quality improvement in Customer Care environments. More recently, I began to direct myself towards fulfillment processes, and the design of software in this area. My strength lies mainly in the translation of business needs to a functional design, ready for development. Although the focus here is on IT, I try within a company also to be the link to the organizational and human side of the processes.

Specific expertise
My knowledge of the internet and telecom market is primarily aimed at access network-related technologies like xDSL and FTTx, and service-specific subjects such as internet access, VoIP and number porting. This is supported by technical knowledge of different network-related protocols and technologies, as well as by knowledge of popular IT systems and design methodologies.

Hobbies
I am very fond of far journeys, photography, films and eating well. As regards sports, I try to keep myself fit with downhill biking and squash.
