Motivation
I am strongly motivated by achieving concrete results, particularly in implementing innovations in telecommunication services and networks. I am fascinated particularly by the design and implementation of business processes and information systems as part of the introduction of new services and technologies. From 1985 I have been alternately employed as consultant and project manager in the telecom sector, and the dynamic within this field of work still appeals greatly to me.
I am happy to work as designer/architect on BSS/OSS projects and am also able to give direction to their development and implementation. Hands-on and working in a team context are to me the key to success in this.
 
Education
After my university preparatory education (VWO) I completed the Business Administration course at the Alkmaar Institute of Technology. After this course, I did training courses at various institutes in the field of information planning, information analysis, functional design, project management and telecommunication techniques.
 
Background & experience
Since May 2005 I have been employed as a senior consultant at VDVL. I made the transition to VDVL due to the focus on the meeting point of business, business processes and ICT in the telecom industry. Before this I worked as operational manager and consultant for a software house oriented towards the Telecom and Industry markets. There, I was responsible for (project) management of software development, supply, support, implementation and integration of custom-made and packaged software. I started my career at KPN Telecom. I worked there as an information analyst, project leader and test manager on various projects in the field of production management, network administration and process-supporting systems.
 
Recent Projects:
·         BPR and setting up functional specifications for the service fulfillment of ISDN30 and IP VPN services
·         Process design and redesign for cable fault repairs and implementation of standard package for workflow management and managing fitters via the mobile network fitters
·         Project management of implementation of standard package for network inventory and fault management to support service assurance
·         Project management of software development of business-critical application for network inventory management in order to migrate from a Unisys to a Wintel platform
·         Setting up processes and ICT systems for Marketing & Sales, Support, Design & Development to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification of a software house
·         Definition study, functional design & software development to modify access management system for Voice over DSL
·         Setting up processes, information and system requirements to install and manage hybrid networks (glass and copper)
·         Consultancy and project management for implementation of standard package for network inventory management at a German telecom operator
·         Project consultant/test manager for conversion and implementation of an application for network inventory management of the SDH/(D)WDM transport network
·         Setting up and leading workshops for use of standard package for network inventory management for a cabler using eTOM.
 
Specific expertise
I obtained my experience at various Telecom operators. My expertise is primarily in the field of Operations Support Systems for Fulfillment and Assurance processes. Besides this, I have gained experience in the production management of building Telecommunication networks.

Spare Time

I spend my spare time firstly with my wife and children. Besides this I am the coach of a youth basketball team and I enjoy riding racing and mountain bikes.
