Motivation
Since 1999 I have been employed as a senior consultant at VDVL. In this time I have had the opportunity in various projects both to widen my detailed knowledge and to do what I like best: to think up new processes, or restructure existing ones, and to define the correct corresponding IT support. Tasks in complex environments that you can get your teeth into appeal to me the most, preferably in a directive role in a team.
 
Achieving a result gives me most satisfaction: new requirements, new specifications, a qualitatively good IT system, but above all: a process that works in practice.
 

Personal characteristics
Motivated, focused and involved. Analytical. Trustworthy. Tenacious.
Professional in motivating a team to achieve a result together. A stayer who invests a lot but who also has great empathy. Good oral and written communication.
 
Background and experience
Originally I am a mathematician (study and doctorate at the VU University Amsterdam). After my doctorate in 1992, I followed the post-academic course Logistics and Physical Distribution Management. Many logistical principles are also applicable to administrative processes, and this is how I entered the world of processes and their associated IT support. I have subsequently been employed in social security, with the central government and since 1996 in the telecom sector.
My consultancy activities involved the following, among other things:
·         Process description and administrative organization
·         Process design and workflow modelling
·         Test specification and implementation on tailor-made applications
·         Supervising user acceptance tests
·         Process owner responsible for setting up logistical and financial requirements for SAP implementations in telecoms, including with reference to stock build-up and maintenance (repair and return processes)
·         Lead consultant for design of zero-touch delivery processes for wholesale ADSL supplies.
Through the projects I have been involved with, I am familiar with GSM networks, ADSL, ATM and ethernet technologies in access and backhaul, and network administration and provisioning. My role often reaches from drafting requirements and specifications, directing development/IT consultants and directing tests right up to supervision/support of the final implementation.
 
Hobbies
My children take first place. It is wonderful to see how they are developing on their way towards adulthood. Further, I enjoy a good walking or cycling trip, preferably in the mountains. In the winter I enjoy skiing and skating.
