Education
After completing the Computer Engineering course at Enschede University of Applied Sciences, I went on to study Tele-Informatics and Open Systems at the University of Twente, with graduation specialism Network Management.
Background & experience
After graduating, I started work at a large national IT company. I started there as programmer and developed via the positions of software developer and software architect to the position of system architect. I gained experience as intermediary between the customer and the development team at companies like Philips Business Communications, Thales Communications and Siemens The Netherlands. I have always paid attention to quality and in recent years I have developed myself in the avenue of quality and test management. I was responsible for the entire test policy for the software for a project in which a large telecom provider replaced the 0800 service number switch with a new one. As quality manager, I have described processes for the software development lifecycle and built tooling to support the processes. Presently I am engaged as test manager at a large telecom provider, responsible for the testing of a number of systems (and their integration) in the service operator domain.
Specific expertise
I have worked in both traditional (waterfall) and agile software development projects. Always making use of quality standards like CMMi, ISO 9216 and IEEE 12207. As test manager I have knowledge and experience of Test Management Approach (TMap) and Test Process Improvement (TPI). I have gained experience of the following topics during many projects: IMS, SIP, TCP/IP, IGMP, SNMP, IP Multicast, RTP, ASN.1, XML, UML, SQL.
