Motives
The area of telecommunications seems to get more and more dynamic. Time to Market is getting shorter while time flies, new products and services are succeeding each other in a very fast way. On top of that a Telecommunication service provider, especially those that own a network (i.e. technical infrastructure) are often quite complex, either seen from a technical or organizational perspective. The dynamic interaction between the operational network and the supporting IT organization makes it for Eric a quite nice and challenging area to act in. Eric gathered his experience in the field of fixed, mobile and Internet companies. First in more specialized jobs and since more than 15 years as a project manager.
 
Eric is always fully dedicated to achieve the project goals set and beyond that he looks continuously forward to new Telco related challenges.

Education
After his study electronics Eric started in the area of private area branch exchanges (PABX) for business customers. This was followed by management and maintenance of public exchanges. Via the classic path of IT management and software designer /development Eric became project manager in 1996. Parallel to this Eric attended lots of additional education in the evening and weekend hours. This resulted in a degree of business management on the Dutch Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) This balance between technical understanding and organizational talent makes that Eric is and will be successful in almost any area within the IT. Next to a few “ big courses” Eric is also trained as Prince-2 practitioner and attended ITIL and RUP (fast incremental programming methods) courses.

Background and experience
Eric supported many customers within the Telco sector in achieving their goals. Both in the BSS and OSS field Eric led and delivered many projects. For instance an E2E order and service chain was renewed. A billing system got a huge modification because of some changes in the Dutch Telecommunications law. Eric ran also a big organizational project where roles and responsibilities were completely redesigned and implemented. Other areas where projects were delivered successfully include (among other) middleware (EAI), fault and performance management (real-time and statical/offline)
  
matter expertise
Eric is supporting any single customer in getting clear what mission is exactly desired and what needs to be executed to achieve one or more goals to get the expectations successfully implemented. Eric is from the start till the end eager to get the activities done and fully committed to secure that the team “is on the same page” and that stakeholders involved are conscious of what is going on and more over what is expected from any team member.
 
How to organize is one known part of the game. Another part is the understanding of how a Telco works. This is also familiar to Eric and provides him with an interesting advantage. He is capable of asking the right questions to the specialists and he also is able to see (or feel) to what extend a (proposed) solution is moving towards to right direction.

Hobby's
Eric goes out for a drink or a dinner with friend and family quite often. There are many popular places within and outside the Netherlands that are favorite to him and therefore visited every once and a while.
 

Improving/maintaining his house and garden are also getting his attention. He likes to get everything is perfect shape and condition. Finally he is quite enthusiastic about driving in - and tinker on – Italian cars and motorcycles.
