Motivation
The motivation in my work is primarily expressed when designing and developing complex telecom solutions in which I prefer a messaging component.
Generally I gain a massive drive from designing solutions that contribute to a better, more reliable and more safe sociaty with as a primary goal that the new solution/application can be used and enjoyed by everybody.

Education
Havo, graduated in 1993 in The Hague
Higher Nautical Advanced Education, graduated in 1997 at the University of Nautical Education “Willem Barendtz” (HBO Noordelijke Hoge School Leeuwarden) on the island of Terschelling.

Background & Experience
Since August 2000 I have been working in the telecommunications business in which I have gained over 11 years of valiable experience in “Mobile Messaging” and Signaling networks. For the past 3 years I have fullfilled the role of a Solution/Product Architect whereby I have been able to design Mobile Messaging solutions for various operators. Examples of these activities are, SMS Archive (KPN BewaarBox), SMS Spam & Fraud detection solutions and the SMS voting solution for AT&T’s American Idols voting campaign.
In the different roles that I have fullfilled in the past 11 years I have been able to gain experience and knowledge in the use and specifications of 2G & 3G networks and more recently also the RCSe capabilities for LTE networks. (4G) Besides this I have solid knowledge of the GSM specifications for messaging (MAP & SCTP). In my work I have also fullfilled the role of technical liason between R&D and the customer or any third party development department. As such the technical management and overal stearing of integrators at any complex and sometimes even large telecom integration processes is known theratory for me.
Besides my interrest in mobile telecom solutions I also have a personal interrest in improving mobile payment solutions as well as making them safer with better security surrounding the authentication processes. On the basis of this interrest I created a white paper for my previous employer, Acision, describing techniques for a possible safe and more reliable mobile payment method.
I have also provided a significant effort in the design and development of a OSS system voor SMSC systems at my previous employer. In this effort I have created the base design en developed the techniques currently used to manage SMSC systems of up to 100 clusters per operator at the same time for management and configuration.
