Motivation

I find my passion in creating new telecom solutions together with my customers, in collaboration with partners, which add value to the (end) customers. To understand complex problems, to invent practical solutions and to implement those within the project objectives gives me satisfaction. The Telecom sector interests me especially because of the dynamism, complexity, innovation and international character. I like to work in multicultural teams where different views contribute positively to the creative process, which often leads to better solutions, and where every day something new can be learned from each other.

Education

After my HEAO study in Rotterdam I did a Master education in Sweden at the Jönköping International Business School. The reason why I wanted to study at that Swedish business school was because of the international character of the studies and because of the expertise the school had in areas such as entrepreneurship, creativity and international business management. During my work career I have followed several courses in areas of ERP, IMS, OSS/BSS, Service Oriented Architectures, RUP and Agile, Leadership and Customer Management.

Background & Experience

I have about 14 years of experience in both IT and Telecom in which I have focused mostly on Telecom. I worked for mobile operators, system integrators and Telecom startups.

After my studies I started to work for Oracle The Netherlands as Application Implementation Consultant. In this role I specified customer requirements, designed the business processes and implemented various ERP software modules at customer site.

I then focused more on the Telecom sector. I had several roles like product manager, solution manager, solution architect and business development manager. Besides I worked two years as a strategy consultant for the Telefonica Moviles Group in Spain.

As a Telefonica delegate I contributed to the functional specification of an interoperable mobile payment platform. This initiative was financed by four large European operators. I worked a lot with architects from the different operators.

I have thorough knowledge of the IP Multmedia Subsystem and Rich Communication Suite.

During my solution architect role at TietoEnator in Finland I was responsible for 2 application servers in the IMS architecture. These were Presence Server and Contact List Server. Both application servers were based on Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) specifications. 

Under my responsibility we developed several releases of the applications for a large Finnish network equipment vendor. 

On the BSS side I designed solutions for MVNOs which are implemented at several new MVNOs in Europe. The MVNO solution was a combination of a billing solution, mediation solution, as well as some network components were optionally included.

In the role of solution architect I worked on the integration of one of the main prepaid platforms with one of the main ERP and billing products. I defined key use cases which were implemented first in the integration project.

At Elektrobit (Finland) I established, in the role of business development manager, several mobile WIMAX demo systems for key customer prospects. The solution included the mobile WIMAX software stack which was developed by Elektrobit.

Since June 2010 I have worked as Senior Consultant at VDVL to apply my Telecom knowledge at VDVL customers. My choice for VDVL was simple, a unique club which focuses specifically at the Telecom sector.

Hobbies

My family comes at the first place. I like to make weekend trips or further travels with my wife and son. I enjoy sporting (running, skiing, swimming, once in a while gym). I like to make music and enjoy a cozy dinner with family and friends.
